Obedience Rating Systems
These systems use AKC scores.
The Delaney Rating System
Novice dogs were not included prior to 2000 ratings. The top 10 dogs of each breed are rated; from these the top 10 dogs in each group are chosen; then from these the top 10 dogs of all breeds are rated.
This is a quote from F&F
"In order to considered for ranking in the Delaney System an obedience dog must place first through fourth in any obedience class. One point is earned for each dog defeated in the class competition. In a class of twenty competing dogs the first place winner would receive 19 points as it defeated this number. The second placing dog would receive 18 points. third place 17 points and fourth place 16 points. Points in each class are awarded based on the number of dogs competing in that class."
First & Foremost Rating System
The top 4 dogs of each breed are rated unless the breed has dogs that have 100 or more points. First and Foremost then rates up to the top 10 dogs with scores over 100. Points are awarded according to the dogs qualifying scores.
